Mauri mauri!!!

Another pday already!?!? The time seriously flies by here. The days are long but the weeks are short. I only have eleven days left?!?! I guess time flies when you're...studying? Oh yeah, it's pretty fun too.

This week was another week of hard-core missionary training. On Tuesday, we sang Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "Praise to the Man" at the devotional. It is such an amazing hymn with a very touching meaning. If you haven't heard it, stop reading this and look it up right now.

I'm serious. You''re still reading...go do it!

Guess who the speaker was?!? President Russel M. Nelson!! Such an amazing talk. It's crazy: Every time I walk out of a devotional, I feel so uplifted and recharged. The Spirit hasn't let me down yet! If you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch a conference talk by Holland or Uchtdorf or Bednar or...well, you can't go wrong. Just try it! I have links on the blog or you can go to lds.org and just search for one there.

So...this week we were talking to some of the Elders from Kiribati. My companion said the prayer in class and accidentally said thank you for the "destroyer" instead of "savior." Remember how I said that was going to happen? Called it.

Yesterday we had our first Skype lesson scheduled to teach someone in Kiribait!! It kinda fell through though....some silly excuse about it being in the middle of the night there and not having a computer. Oh well. Instead, we skyped a returned missionary at BYU. We taught a 45 minute lesson about enduring to the end and inviting others to Christ.

So here it goes. If you are a member of the church, go read Mosiah 18 and ponder on how you can continue to help others and keep growing yourself. If you are not a member of the church, go listen to that hymn, listen to a conference address, or get a Book of Mormon (my family or any member can help with that). All of those things have been a huge strength to me throughout my life. So do me a favor and pick one. Pay attention to how you feel when you do it. These things have brought me much peace and comfort, and I know it can for you as well. I'm serious.

Well, I'm out of time once again. I really appreciate hearing from everyone! Feel free to email me or send me mail; I love getting both. Packages with obscene amounts of candy are acceptable as well.

Tia manga bo! (until next time),

Elder Barker
