Kam na bane ni mauri moa!
This past week was actually pretty busy! We had a ton of stuff happen. This week was another Zone Conference (for all the missionaries on Tarawa), so it was pretty fun to go and soak up the great trainings and lessons from that. We got to hear testimonies from all of the missionaries that will be departing soon. Sister Rangi, Elder Baker (not Barker), and Elder Ellis all spoke. It was cool to hear what they had to say. I've heard a lot of missionaries stand up and speak at their last zone conference, and they all say the same thing: It goes by so fast. Listening to them made me want to work even harder! I only get two years, so I had better make the most of it!
Besides that, a new intake of Elders came in this week! It was pretty hectic trying to get 12 new Elders and all of their bags to their houses. Most of them are staying in Tarawa to be trained, but there are 3 or 4 of them that are heading straight out to outer islands! It was really cool to talk with them about the MTC and what's going on in America right now. They all seemed to be doing well and they were all super excited to finally get to Kiribati!
Working with my new companion has been pretty smooth so far. Elder Miller only has about 3 months left, so he is pretty good at speaking Kiribati. He talks soooo fast. He's super energetic and always happy. I miss working with Elder Veresoni, but luckily we are still in the same house and see each other all the time. I'm sad to be leaving all of our investigators. They were doing so well!!! At least I still see them at church and stuff. We have a few investigators that are progressing right now too.
Also!!! This video was made by an Elder that went home only a few weeks ago. It really accurately captures what it's like to live in Kiribati. We showed it at the Zone Conference and at the new intake orientation. Here it is:
Other than that...not much else to report!
have a great week!
